<LI><b>Description:</b> Amazone is a national conference and ressource centre for women, which was established on the initiative of the federal government of Belgium. It is bilingual: Dutch and French. The centre is managed by a non-profit-making organisation and has three aims:<ol><li>to provide support for women's organisations<li>to serve as a meeting place for anyone involved in "equal opportunities" issues<li>to be an information, documentation and archive centre with regard to the male/female aspect of equal opportunities.</ol> The documentation centre collects all the government documents with regard to emancipation and equal opportunities for men and women and executes projects concerning gender and policy.
<LI><b>Experience with the equality men/women:</b> The centre works specifically on equal opportunities for men and women. The DIGMA project is the first in which the mainstreaming concept has a central place.
